The School of Animal Health and Husbandry (as it was then referred to) was founded on the 1st of April,1964 (by the defunct Western Region and USIAD) to meet the need to train Livestock Assistants (Certificate) in order to cope with the ever increasing demand for assistance in the practice of Veterinary profession. The School became an integral part of the Institute of Agricultural Research and Training (I.A.R & T) of the Obafemi Awolowo University,Ile Ife by the Western State Edic of 1970. more
AIMS & OBJECTIVES
To provide manpower in the area of Animal Health and Production.
To produce extension staff capable of imparting to livestock farmers, the modern techniques of increased Animal Production
To produce men and women, knowledgeable in the field of Animal Production who would effectively utilize their training to establish and manage their own livestock farms to maximum advantage. Ultimately, the College aims primarily at producing job makers not job seekers.

OUR MISSION
The students after graduation are expected to:
  • Establish and manage modern standard livestock farms and carry out associated production processes and become job makers and not job seekers.
  • Serve as extension worker to livestock farmers, the modern techniques of increased animal production aimed at increasing their production levels and levels and standards of living. more

To produce graduates at National and Higher national Diploma levels to meet the needs of Farmers, Agro-allied Industries, Pharmaceutical and Government Agencies.
